Evolution Golf Cart Warranty Explained: 2 Years Plus 8 Years on Lithium

Every new Evolution golf cart we sell comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty and 8 years on the lithium battery. Here is what that covers and how to keep it valid.

A warranty is one of the most important parts of a golf cart purchase, and it is one of the least understood. This guide explains what the Evolution warranty covers, how the two parts work together, and what you can do to keep your coverage valid.

The two parts of the Evolution warranty

CoverageLengthWhat it protects
Manufacturer warranty2 yearsThe cart itself, against defects in materials and workmanship, under Evolution's warranty terms
Lithium battery warranty8 yearsThe lithium battery pack, the most valuable single component on an electric cart

The exact terms are set out in the warranty document that comes with your cart. Ask us for a copy before you buy if you want to read the details.

Why the 8-year battery warranty matters

On an electric golf cart, the battery is the component that has traditionally needed replacing most often. Older lead-acid batteries needed regular watering and wore out much sooner. Lithium batteries need no watering and handle far more charge cycles, and an 8-year warranty means the part you would worry about most is covered for most of the time you are likely to own the cart.

Lithium with an 8-year warranty
  • No watering or acid spills
  • Steady power as the charge drops
  • Lighter and faster to charge
  • Covered for 8 years on the carts we sell
Older lead-acid batteries
  • Regular watering and cleaning
  • Power fades as the charge drops
  • Heavier, slower to charge
  • Usually shorter coverage

What warranties usually do not cover

Like most vehicle warranties, golf cart warranties generally do not cover:

  • Normal wear items such as tires, brake pads and upholstery wear
  • Damage from accidents, flooding, misuse or neglect
  • Problems caused by unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Damage caused by using the wrong charger or charging incorrectly
  • Cosmetic wear from everyday use

Check your warranty document for the full list, and ask us if anything is unclear.

How to keep your warranty valid

  • Use the charger supplied with the cart, or one approved for it
  • Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual and keep records
  • Ask before adding lift kits, speed changes or electrical accessories
  • Store the cart properly, especially for long periods without use
  • Report any problem early, before it causes more damage

How to make a warranty claim

Contact us with your cart's serial number or VIN, a short description of the problem, and photos or a video if you can. We help you work through the claim with the manufacturer and source any parts you need.

Warranty for export buyers

If you are buying an Evolution cart for delivery outside the U.S., ask us before you order how warranty support and parts will work in your country. We also make sure the charger matches your country's voltage. See our shipping and export page for more.
