What makes a golf cart street legal?

In the U.S., a street-legal golf cart is a low-speed vehicle (LSV). It's built with the safety equipment federal rules require and has a top speed of up to 25 mph. Most states also require registration, insurance and a driver's license, and many allow LSVs on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph. Rules vary by state and city, so check yours before you drive.

Not often any more do you find a business that just wants to do right by their desperate customer with kindness and support. My golf cart had not been charged while I was sick for a 3 week time frame. I called Nationwide Golf Carts and spoke to Diane. She was quick to say yes come in and even understood I needed my cart the next day. The job was done in record time and I couldn't be happier. I need my cart for work so it was imperative I drove off today with it and it happened! Everyone was so helpful, efficient and treated me with kindness and a desire to get me back to work. I can't thank everyone who refreshed the batteries and updated fuses and wires enough. I've found my place to care for my cart! I'll be back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We enjoyed our weekend our new to us golf car from this fantastic family owned business! From the selling us the golf car to delivery was very smooth. You can tell they want their customers to leave happy. We went in with a budget and they worked with us and we were riding in three days. Upon delivery we were given detailed instructions on the ins and outs of our new campground ride. I would highly recommend them to anyone in search.

FAQ

Electric golf cart questions

Can't find your answer? Message us and we'll reply with details.

How much does an electric golf cart cost?

Our new electric carts and vehicles range from $3,800 to $14,999, and half are priced at $9,995 or less. 106 of them cost $10,000 or less. Delivery, taxes and registration are quoted separately.

Do your electric golf carts use lithium or lead-acid batteries?

Every electric golf cart we list runs on a lithium battery, with an 8-year battery warranty. Ask us about battery options for the Cushman industrial vehicles.

How long does it take to charge an electric golf cart?

It depends on the battery and charger. Most owners simply plug in overnight and start the day with a full charge.

Are electric golf carts street legal?

166 of our 171 electric listings are street-legal models. The rest are Cushman industrial vehicles built for private work sites, not public roads. In many U.S. states, a registered and insured LSV can use roads with speed limits up to 35 mph, but rules vary, so check your local requirements.

Should I choose electric or gas?

Choose electric for quiet driving, no fuel and very little upkeep. Gas suits long work days and places where charging is hard, because it refuels in minutes.

Can I export an electric golf cart?

Yes. We export by container or RoRo, and we make sure the charger matches your country's voltage.

Which brands do you sell?

We sell new electric carts from Evolution, E-Z-GO, Club Car, STAR EV, Cushman and Denago, as an authorized dealer for each brand.

How do I pay?

Ask for a quote first. Once you accept it, you pay by bank wire transfer.

About electric golf carts

An electric golf cart runs on a rechargeable battery instead of gasoline, so it is quiet, clean and cheap to run. Electric carts are the top choice for gated communities, neighborhoods, resorts, campuses and families, and every electric golf cart we list uses a lithium battery.

Golf Carts Nation stocks new electric carts from Evolution, E-Z-GO, Club Car, STAR EV, Denago and Cushman in 2, 4 and 6 seats, standard or lifted, plus Cushman industrial electric vehicles for work sites. Every listing shows photos of the actual vehicle and its price, and we deliver across the U.S. or export to Europe and Asia.
